How we prove it
Privacy promises are easy to make. This page lists what every app can actually do, so you can check for yourself.
The short version
- Core apps have no internet permission. Android won't let an app use the network without it, so these apps cannot send your data anywhere, even by mistake.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking in any SageLoch app, core or Lookout.
- No accounts. You never sign in to us.
- Lookout apps name their servers. Each one lists exactly which servers it contacts, here, on its store page and inside the app.
Check it yourself
On your phone, open Settings → Apps → [app name] → Permissions, or scroll to "App permissions" on the Google Play listing. What you see there should match this table. If it ever doesn't, tell us.
Apps that aren't released yet show the permissions we plan to request. We confirm each list against the finished app before it ships.

This website
This site has no cookies, no tracking scripts and nothing loaded from other companies: no third-party scripts, fonts or analytics services. Everything, including the typeface, is served from our own server.
We count visits the simple way. Our server tallies page views and app downloads from its own logs. To count unique visitors each day without following anyone, it scrambles your IP address and browser name together with a random key that changes daily, and throws that key away at midnight. After that, all we keep are plain daily totals, such as "120 visitors, 14 downloads of Chime."
Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, page and time) for up to 14 days to deal with abuse and errors, then deletes them.
